![]() That's especially true when it comes to analog audio. The longer a connection is, the more likely the signal it carries is to degrade. ![]() Splitting the USB cables from the audio ones might help, if it's an EM issue, but if it's the PCB, then either it was a dud or there's shoddy tracing since it was designed.Īs a rule of thumb, when it comes to electric signals, shorter lengths are better. If your problem is only with the front speakers, though, it might be that the cable generating the EM field is actually the USB front panel cable, or that there's an issue with the cable itself, or the PCB where the USB/front panel audio connectors connect. If that's the case, cable managing in a way that keeps the audio wires separate from the rest might work. Or you might have a crappy PSU, that can't filter outside interferences too well, leading to buzzing on any analog speakers.įinally, it can be that the audio cables are touching other live connectors, or just a live cable, which can generate EM fields that cause that kind of buzzing. If it's a home wiring issue, an UPS might help. My first guess would be grounding issues, or wires being positioned in places that make them susceptible to EM fields from other components.ĭouble-check your connections, to make sure everything is grounded, from inside the CPU to the outlet and behind it (some homes have horrible or no grounds, or just bad wiring generally speaking, which makes any transient voltages/loads suck much more than they'd otherwise would). CROWNTAKERS ANNOYING BUZZING SOUND PCOn a side note I also happen to have a guitar amp right under my desk so that could also possibly be a source of the buzzing, but again I've had my PC longer than my amp and it was unfortunately still buzzing before I moved my amp under my desk. Here is a link to my build in case any of the parts have been known to interfere with audio: The interference only happens when I use the audio jack, so for instance if I had headphones that plugged into the USB drive I wouldn't get any buzzing. Now I'm really worried because I have no idea why my PC would have such bad audio quality. This made me think that the buzzing sound was originating from the PC. Well today I just plugged in headphones to my audio jack and it turns out that I'm also getting interference on those. ![]() ![]() It always buzzed but I assumed it was just my monitor because I was using the built in speakers which are usually crap, so I figured I'd just buy a new set of speakers when I had the money. So I've known for a while that the audio part of my PC build isn't all that great. ![]()
